Arival Sept. 9 2009.
Well since Thomas and I have arrived we have had a one-year-old birthday and some transitions. One transition was to milk. I didn't want it to be true but it is. Thomas gets a really bad but rash from cheese and milk so we have opted for formula for on the go (9-24) and soy milk at home at least until he is potty trained. The outcome is much better believe me! Thomas is walking or as Marc would say toddle toddle toddle. He does still crawl though, especially after a fall. Climbing, he loves to climb. When he comes to you in the bed you see his head two hands and a foot trying to get up on the bed.
We went to the beach last Wednesday finally. As soon as Thomas and I got here the weather was overcast and rainy so we had to wait a few more days to go with daddy to the beach he has long been waiting to go to. The water was a bit ruff but we did a lot of shell hunting. It wasn't really so much a sand beach as it was rocks, shells and coral. Just beautiful.
We have made two trips to the commissary so far and I am still excited that they sell weight watchers. Although Marc got sidetracked on a trip to the fish store and all the good ice cream melted. We will be getting a fish or two today and heading back to the beach.
Yesterday we were invited to a coworkers house for a cookout get together. It was a really good time hanging out with Marc's coworkers. However we did find out that if it looks likes stairs Thomas will climb it. Yes he climbed up the side of the TV stand and got to the TV. Thanks LoLo for teaching Thomas to climb! He'll probably climb Mt. Everest some day. But first Mt. Fuji is in the plans for next year though.
Tomorrow we plan to head to the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium, the world's second largest. They have whale sharks. I think it will be great to see the outdoor dolphin show. And last but not least a trip to Babies R' Us is in store for Tuesday. I love 4 day weekends. There are just some things I can't find here in the Exchange...such as a Bath Mat so baby Thomas doesn't keep slipping in the tub and hitting his head.
Marc has a meeting with housing on Wednesday so it may still be another week to two weeks before we get an address. I will be having lunch with a chaplain's wife as well. So I finally will be meeting someone who's been here a while and can give me advice.
